Alexus D’Marco is a transwoman, Human Rights Defender, and Civil Society Organization Leader representing marginalized groups in The Bahamas working regionally and globally with a mission to provide an enabling environment for all Bahamians and groups within the Caribbean. She is doing advocacy work in the Bahamas for marginalized groups such as LGBTQSIA BAHAMAS by providing education and awareness to the issues they face. Throughout her voluntary working experience with alongside many other agencies she was trained in Adolescent Health, Peer Leadership skills, and facilitating training and health initiatives/ Monitoring and Evaluating programs and advocacy skills. She also accomplished a number of community initiatives such as the Stars In Sky and Spirit Day, a campaign bringing awareness to suicide prevention. The Safe Spaces Initiative for the community has made a difference in the lives of many in the community. She is the founder of and organization which provides public awareness training and sensitivity training, and provides resources and information to At-Risk Youth, Vulnerable Communities, Marginalized Groups and members of the L.G.B.T.Q.S .I. communities in the Bahamas. She is passionate to ending discrimination and stigma against marginalized groups in The Bahamas and the Caribbean. Policy implementation, research, are a few of her strengths.
