Rima Athar currently coordinates the Coalition for Sexual and Bodily Rights in Muslim Societies (CSBR). She is a researcher, trainer, analyst & strategist whose work focuses on strengthening feminist organizing for human rights. Rima has coordinated a number of international programs to that end, including on internet technology, business & human rights; early &forced marriage; gender-based violence; religious fundamentalism; the rights of domestic migrant workers; reproductive & bodily autonomy; and sexual & gender diversity. Recently Rima co-facilitated the LBQ Women's Pre-Conference at ILGA-Asia 2017, and is working with women's rights, queer & trans activists on participatory programming on themes of Faith & Sexuality, Holistic Well-Being, and Movement Building. Her publications include "Sexual Politics in Muslim Societies: Studies from Palestine, Turkey, Malaysia and Indonesia" (CSBR 2017), “Improving Corporate Policies to End Technology-Related Violence Against Women” (APC, 2015), and “The Politics of Gender Testing in International Sports” (WLUML, 2015).
