Juliet Nnedinma Ulanmo Esq identifies as a RALF (a Radical African Feminist Lesbian), differently-abled. She goes by any pronoun except it. Please call her Nnedinma or Nnedi. Nnedinma is an activist and a legal practitioner with over 8 years’ experience of active activism and litigation. She is a member of Litigation Network put together by The Initiative for Equal Rights (TIERs) and initially facilitated by Sibongile Ndashe. As a legal practitioner, she is presently involved with the legal team challenging the Federal Government of Nigeria on the constitutionality of the SSMPA (The Same-sex Marriage Prohibition Act), a law which is clearly unconstitutional and violates every right and freedom of LGBTI persons in Nigeria. The case is presently on-going. She served as an Interim Steering Committee Member and Interim Board Member of the West Africa LGBTI Activists Led Fund, now known as the Sankofi Initiative Funds (a process initiated and started by Mariam Armisen). As part of this process, they worked tirelessly, committedly and assiduously to bring SIF to where it is presently, established and ready to start implementation in the region. She is very proud of being a part of this project. She is presently serving on the Pan Africa ILGA board and also as an EC Member of the Coalition of African Lesbians. She is also serving as a Board member of the Coalition for the Defense of Sexual Rights, Nigeria. She has also served as the interim Secretary of the Interfaith Diversity Network of West Africa founded by Davis Mac-Iyalla. She continues to contribute to the work of the LBT movement in every capacity that she finds herself. Back home, she is a very dedicated member of the LBT community, always interacting with fellow LBT women and partnering with other LBT and LGBTQ organizations striving to own our narrative and ensure our liberty and freedom. She lives and works in the Northeast of Nigeria. She loves to participate in team building activities and loves to nurture and grow projects. She has a couple of articles, relaxes by writing poems or watching Arsenal Football club play.
